Hen Parties, Cakestands and PR

I've just read my last post - full of good intentions and promises of regular posts... back in August. Hmmmmm. Okay, so New Years Resolutions! Staring from NOW I will keep you updated with things that inspire me and my business www.doilydays.co.uk and feature creative people I meet along the way.

There's loads to blog about. I want to tell you all about the vintage cakestands I'm making, the 'Afternoon Tea' hen parties I'm planning in Brighton and the bookings I've taken for this year. But first things first I want to tell you about the table decorations I did for a 90th birthday lunch in London last weekend.

The event was for 20 people at The Lansdown Club in Mayfair. The brief was 'colourful' so I set to work and came up with menucards for each person featuring a brightly coloured feather, then there were multicoloured namecards which picked out the colours in the flowers - fresias, hyacinths, tulips and, birthday girls favourite, Lily of the Valley - Not colourful I know but absolutely beautiful, full of nostalgic charm and the scent was increadible. I also wrapped 20 packets of Cornish fudge in vibrant tissue paper and ribbon for the guests to enjoy with their coffee and finally I arranged some tealights on a cakestand with some faux flowers - these were for the birthday girl to blow out with her profiterole tower!

My next blog article will be about my homemade vintage cakestands!
